Douglas Freel Calgary

Based in Calgary, Alberta, Douglas Freel serves as senior vice president of ARC Financial Corp., where he oversees private equity investment projects with an emphasis on opportunities in the oilfield services sector. He works closely with portfolio companies and also serves as chairman of such firms as Tesla Exploration, Lifting Solution Energy Services, and Citadel Drilling. Douglas Freel developed expertise while previously serving as a research analyst for Loewen Ondaatje McCutcheon. Earlier in his career, he worked as an engineer for Schlumberger Ltd.

Educated at Queen’s University, Douglas Freel earned his bachelor of science in engineering in 1986. He went on to complete a master of business administration in finance from the University of Toronto. In his personal life, he enjoys sailing, and owns a sailboat moored in Victoria, British Columbia. He also stays active in his local community in Calgary as chairman of the non-profit educational organization The Impact Society.
