Doug Melvin TSA

A former Director of Security and Administrative Services for the White House in Washington, D.C., Doug Melvin currently works at DACC Global. Categorized as an alternative energy company, DACC Global has provided alternative energy sources for developing countries like Pakistan and Guinea since 2006. Doug Melvin started working at DACC Global after several years with the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). During his time at the TSA, he helped improve customer-satisfaction levels and reorganize departmental programs that led to a $1.5-million decrease in annual spending.

Doug Melvin worked for the Department of Homeland Security for a year before joining the branch that works in collaboration with the TSA. In his role as DHS Country Director for Iraq, Mr. Melvin worked with domestic and foreign diplomats to help Iraq establish its own department of homeland security. He worked from Baghdad, Iraq, to create a national standard for border security and homeland-security training practices.

A qualified U.S. Army Ranger, Doug Melvin started his career as an Executive Officer and Operations Officer and Platoon Leader for the military-police unit at the Seneca Army Depot in New York. He later became Captain of a Special Forces unit in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He helped retrain a Special Forces team that was not performing to standard, successfully leading this team through a rigorous process that had it ready for a critical mission in less than two months.

With more than 25 years of experience in security, management, leadership, and collaborative efforts between governmental bodies, Mr. Melvin remains a certified weapons instructor and a certified anti-terrorism instructor for the Department of Defense.
