Dr. Cathy Frank

Dr. Cathy Frank, BA, MD, FRCS(c) is a physician who has been practicing in the field of fertility medicine for over a decade. Completing her post-graduate medical work in 2002 at the University of Western Ontario, Dr. Frank’s medical experience began many years earlier as a medical technician at the University of Western Ontario, and in her last two years as a technician, at London Health Sciences Centre in London, Ontario. With a love of medicine and a particular passion for delivering babies, Dr. Frank worked her way through university while working as a technician and raising three children. Successfully completing her undergraduate degree in Psychology in 1990, Dr. Frank moved on to study medicine and was accepted to McMaster University’s medical school in 1994. Being able to graduate from medical school was a lifelong dream of Dr. Frank’s and doing so in 1997, after so much hard work and dedication, was truly a dream come true for her. During her postgraduate work at the University of Western Ontario, Dr. Frank dedicated her talents and skills to the field of obstetrics and gynecology.

Following her post-graduate work, Dr. Cathy Frank was hired at her first OB/GYN position at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. Beginning as a consultant at the hospital in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Frank quickly proved her talents and skill, and eventually rose to become Chief of the OB/GYN department at St. Thomas in 2004. Dr. Frank served as Chief of the department to 2009. During her five-year tenure as Chief, Dr. Frank served in nearly all aspects of gynecological medicine, including performing gynecology surgeries, working in obstetrics and executing and supervising infertility treatments. As a testament to Dr. Frank’s effective management skills, during her five years as Chief of OB/GYN at St. Thomas, the department had some of the most competitive wait times in the entire city of St. Thomas. In addition, the department had the lowest wait times for hysterectomies.

In 2009, Dr. Cathy Frank transitioned from St. Thomas Hospital to the SOFT Clinic in London, Ontario to work alongside her husband, Dr. James Martin, who is also a gynecologist and fertility specialist. Since 2009, Dr. Frank has used her knowledge and talents to improve and expand upon the clinic’s fertility practice and selection of treatments.
