I'm an an archaeologist and digital humanist. My work surveys the ways new media are used to construct cultural heritage knowledge, from the perspectives of practicing archaeologists, historians, and the wider public. I explore the rhetorics implicit in different ways of encoding digital tools, and the effects these have on consuming/creating archaeological and historical data.I am a Registered Professional Archaeologist, www.rpanet.org. I teach historical methods and digital history at all levels, including a graduate seminar in digital history, where the final project involves using various augmented reality platforms to tell environmental history. Currently I'm teaching a third year seminar on video games as historical artefacts and creators of a digital historical consciousness - my students blog at http://3812.graeworks.net.
