Dr. Harvey Finkelstein MD

Dr. Harvey Finkelstein MD, a specialist in pain management, with more than thirty years of medical experience. Dr. Finkelstein received his medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine in 1981, and completed five years of residency at Long Island Jewish Hospital and University Hospital at Stony Brooks. He also completed two Fellowships (Pediatric and Cardiac Anesthesia; Pain Management). He served as attending physician at the Pain Management Center at University Hospital, as well as specialist in anesthesiology and pain management in numerous hospitals and practices in Long Island.

In 2000 Dr. Finkelstein opened his own private pain management clinic after serving as Director of Anesthesia at Central General Hospital and Plainview Hospital from 1992 to 2000. Dr. Finkelstein primarily focuses on office-based pain management and practices out of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bethpage, Long Island.

Dr. Finkelstein is a registered examiner for the World Institute of Pain’s Fellowship examination (FIPP) and has been for four years. He traveled to Maastricht and Budapest to complete the exam, which includes oral, written and practical aspects to test the examinee’s knowledge and performance on four nerve blocks . Dr. Finkelstein is a member of the World Institute of Pain and the International Spine Interventional Society. He is also a member of the New York State Pain Society.
