A Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist treating adolescent and adult patients, Dr. Diane Nguyen, D.O., currently splits her time between consulting responsibilities at Gary Job Corps Center and a busy private practice in the greater Austin, Texas, metropolitan region. With more than a decade of experience in psychiatry, Dr. Diane Nguyen began to lay the foundations for her career while an undergraduate at Houston Baptist University. At this institution, she earned selection to the Phi Eta Sigma and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies, won her school’s Academic Scholarship Award, and appeared on the Dean’s list each year. Following receipt of her B.S. in Biology and Chemistry, with honors, Dr. Diane Nguyen, D.O., enrolled at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth in 1998 and spent the next four years immersed in the study of medicine. Graduating with her Doctor of Osteopathy in 2002, she subsequently entered into a rigorous course of clinical training and completed her internship, residency in psychiatry, and fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. During this time, Dr. Diane Nguyen continued to build upon her professional accomplishments, earning both the Residents Appreciation Award Plaque from Nix Behavioral Health Hospital and the Stepping Stones Scholarship from the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry. In 2007, Dr. Diane Nguyen, D.O., relocated to the Austin area to found a private practice in psychiatry, after which she joined Gary Job Corps Center as a member of the mental health team. Today, she treats patients 16 years old and older, combining pharmacology and adjunctive therapy for a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan.
