Dr. Jaydutt Patel MD

Cardiac electrophysiologist Dr. Jaydutt Patel serves as a consultant in cardiology and internal medicine at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie, Pennsylvania. As a member of an 11-physician specialty group known as Consultants in Cardiovascular Diseases, Inc. (CICDI), Dr. Jaydutt Patel focuses on ventricular arrhythmias, supraventricular arrhythmias, ventricular tachycardia procedures, implantation and removal of pacemakers and defibrillators, atrial fibrillation ablations, lead extractions, and evaluation of bradyarrhythmias. Dr. Jaydutt Patel brings a résumé of more than 11 years’ training and experience to his work for CICDI and Saint Vincent. Born in India, he earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Sardar Patel University, an institution located in the state of Gujarat. Dr. Jaydutt Patel subsequently earned his Doctor of Medicine at PramukhSwami Medical College, in Karamsad, India, graduating in the top five percent of his class in 1999. The following year, Dr. Jaydutt Patel moved to the U.S. to begin a residency in internal medicine at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey, an affiliate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. Dr. Jaydutt Patel went on to accept a role as Chief Resident in internal medicine at The University of Iowa in Des Moines. Dr. Jaydutt Patel also taught at the University of Iowa as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine. In 2004, he joined the staff of St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center as a Fellow in cardiovascular medicine and cardiac electrophysiology. This fellowship with St. Elizabeth’s, a Caritas Family Hospital in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston and a teaching affiliate of Tufts University School of Medicine, lasted four years. Dr. Jaydutt Patel received an award for Excellence in Teaching in the Medicine Clerkship while on the staff at St. Elizabeth’s. Dr. Jaydutt Patel undertook in 2008 another fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology in Boston, this one at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, an affiliate of the Harvard Medical School. Throughout his medical career, Dr. Jaydutt Patel has frequently given to charities and community service organizations, including the Medical Reserve Corps and the American Heart Association. Dr. Jaydutt Patel has returned to his native India as a volunteer, and served with the Newton Medical Reserve Corps, a community organization that promotes health and well-being, with an emphasis on preventing issues through awareness.
