Dr. Robert McMullen

Psychiatrist Dr. Robert McMullen has held staff privileges at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City; St. Clare’s Hospital in New Jersey; Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow, New York; Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, New York; and New York-Presbyterian Hospital. From 1990 until 2010, Dr. Robert McMullen also served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he taught in various capacities. For 14 years, Dr. Robert McMullen taught and consulted at the Center for Oral, Facial, and Head Pain of the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. Specializing in the treatment of TMJ (temporomandibular) syndrome and the associated atypical facial pain, Dr. Robert McMullen contributed a chapter called “Pharmacologic Management of Psychiatric Disorder” in The Textbook of Temporomandibular Disorder, published in 1991. Dr. Robert McMullen graduated from Washington and Lee University with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. Before entering the Georgetown University School of Medicine, he studied teaching at the University of Maryland and took pre-med courses at American University and Howard University. After finishing medical school, where he earned honors in psychiatry, Dr. Robert McMullen completed a psychiatry residency at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. In his private practice, Dr. Robert McMullen specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders.
