Ryan N. Potter, MD., owner and president of Comprehensive Pain Management in Corpus Christi, Texas, began his career after completing fourteen years of education after high school. Dr. Potter graduated cum laude (with honors)from Texas Tech University with his Bachelor of Science in 1990. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha (top of class honorary society), in 1995. While earning his Doctor of Medicine, Dr. Ryan Potter served as a laboratory assistant with Shriners' Burns Institute in Galveston, Texas and published in Anesthesia and Analgesia.
As a study-abroad student with the Spanish Department of Texas Tech University, Dr. Potter had the opportunity to live with an exchange family for three months in San Luis Potosi, Mexico where he became fluent in Spanish. Continuing his international endeavors in medical school, he spent a one month in Costa Rica, where he provided medical services to underprivileged individuals in the region.
Upon graduating with his M.D., Dr. Ryan Potter attended an Anesthesiology residency at Wake Forest University's Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He did a one month humanitarian mission to Umtata South Africa to provide medical care to the poor in South Africa. After he completed his residency in Anesthesiology, Dr. Potter remained at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center to undertake a fellowship in Pain Management, which he continues to specialize in today.
In July 2000, Dr. Ryan Potter founded his private practice, Comprehensive Pain Management, in Corpus Christi, TX, where he continues to work today. His practice consists of a number of pain relief treatments specializing in minimally-invasive treatments of spinal pain. Dr. Potter is dual board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in Anesthesiology and also Pain Management. He has received numerous Patients' Choice Awards. He has also received the distinguished honor of being named to the "Top 70 Pain Management Physicians in America" and also one of "25 Great Physicians in Texas".
