I am a board certified spine specialist and Director of the Center for Spine Health at Northwestern University in Chicago Illinois. I am a Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and am fellowship-trained in both Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery Spine Surgery.

I see patients at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Elmhurst Center for Health. I have cared for hundreds of patients with complex neck, lower back, spine, disc and nerve pain from all over the world.

I believe in listening to my patients and helping them create an individualized plan. That plan should be based on high quality science, years of experience, and cutting edge technology.

In addition to performing spinal decompression surgery, disc surgery, and spinal fusions, I also have an interest in minimally invasive spine surgery and sports injuries.

My experience and extensive research include the areas of cervical spine surgery, adult spine, cervical myelopathy, spinal cord injuries, arthritis of the spine, spinal stenosis, spine trauma, spine cancers and tumors, disc degeneration, neck pain, and back pain. I've pioneered genetics research and advanced MRI techniques for spinal conditions.
