I have been working in the IT industry since the mid-90s and was playing with computer technology well before that. From help desk technician to solutions provider, I have been involved at many layers of enterprise technology, from the desktop to the network to the server and the SAN.

I have certifications from CompTIA (A+, N+, Server+), Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), and Microsoft (MCITP: Enterprise Support Technician and Consumer Support Technician, MCTS: Windows Vista Configuration, MCDBA SQL Server 2000, MCSE+I Windows NT 4.0, MCSE Windows 2000, and MCSE Windows 2003). I hold a master's degree in business administration from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

My experience includes more than nine years with Hewlett-Packard's managed services division, working with Fortune 500 companies on network and server implementations as well as ongoing operational support. I have worked in the insurance industry on highly available infrastructure and disaster recovery. I've run my own technology consultant company, Consortio Services. I'm currently working in all manner of system administration in the public sector at the Regional Transportation District.

I am an author. This includes the books MCITP: Microsoft Windows Vista Desktop Support Enterprise Study Guide 70-622 and MCITP: Microsoft Windows Vista Desktop Support Consumer Study Guide from Sybex, Wiley Publishing. I have several white papers under my belt for 1105 Media and Real Time Nexus. I have regular articles with Techtarget at SearchWindowsServer.com and SearchConsumerization.com. I am also a Contributing Editor for Redmond Magazine and Virtualization Review, both in print and online.

I present from time to time, including the TechMentor 2010 conference. I was also co-creator, writer, and on-air co-host of the long-running podcast "CS Techcast", a show that reached 100,000 people weekly with audio and video focused on enterprise technology from 2007 to 2010.

I am an Adjunct Instructor at Colorado Technical University teaching System Administration, Networking, Enterprise Architecture, and Database Applications for the Computer Science department.

When not doing the technology thing I am spending time with my wife, two daughters, and my son while trying to keep the lawn green at my house in Colorado Springs.
