I am an energetic digital media professional, volunteer and leader. I am passionate about building teams of open-minded, creative, dedicated and ambitious people to solve problems and innovate. I am driven by resilience and honesty — I value strategies that are nimble, forward-thinking and results-driven. I also believe strongly in creating work and volunteer environments that value hard work and good fun.

Professionally, I work as a senior editor for the USA TODAY Network Northeast Group, including NorthJersey.com and The Record and lohud and The Journal News, news organizations covering greater New York. I oversee opinion reports for our publications across six states. We own digital news in prosperous suburbs that are home to some of the most influential people in the United States.

As a volunteer, I am a trustee of the Frederic Remington Art Museum, The Wild Center and Volunteer New York! I serve as a member of the executive council of North Country Public Radio. I also lend my time to St. Lawrence University, my undergraduate Alma Mater, where I served two terms as president of the Alumni Association. In Pound Ridge, I chair the Landmarks and Historic District Commission. I am also deeply committed to the Westchester County Association. I am a graduate of Leadership Westchester and am a recipient of the Business Council of Westchester’s 40 Under 40 award.

My work has been recognized by the Society of the Silurians, the Deadline Club, the New Jersey Press Association, the New York News Publishers Association and the Associated Press. I earned a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

I live in Pound Ridge, New York, with my wife, Emily Hunt Forbes, our daughters, Caroline, Julia and Mary Ellen, and our terrier, Fred.
