Byungsuk Jang

Deputy Director The Korea Economic Daily

Byungsuk Jang is a media business and convention strategy professional with over 30 years of experience leading cross-sector event planning and content development at The Korea Economic Daily. His expertise spans the cultural arts, ICT, manufacturing/CPG, finance, biotech, distribution, and other fields where industry and public interest intersect.

Throughout his career, he has worked on a wide range of significant exhibitions, global forums, and cultural events—often at the point where content, audience, and institutional cooperation come together. His project portfolio includes international classical music performances (such as the Vienna Philharmonic and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Korea), major art exhibitions (including the Habsburg Dynasty: 600 Years of Imperial Collections), and sports events such as the KLPGA Tour BC Card Hankyung Ladies Cup.

Jang also led long-standing policy and innovation platforms such as the Global HR Forum, STRONG Korea Forum, and Global Forum on North Korea's Economy. These forums brought together thought leaders, policymakers, and corporate executives across multiple countries to discuss global competitiveness, human capital, and science and technology agendas.

In addition to private-sector projects, he has supported public initiatives through advisory roles in education, urban planning, and industry-academic cooperation. He was a member of several national committees and has received recognition from the Korean government, including a commendation from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education.

Jang holds a B.A. in Arabic and Business Administration from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. His work involves strategic planning, operational coordination, and long-term partnership building. Rather than focusing on one-off events, he has consistently aimed to develop sustainable platforms that support business innovation, cultural exchange, and audience engagement over time.

His approach emphasizes collaboration across fields, attention to content quality, and aligning project objectives with institutional goals and broader social value.
