Eleanor Cheng MD
An alumnus of Northwestern University, Eleanor Cheng MD holds two Bachelor’s degrees, one in Biology and the other in Art History. In 2003, Eleanor Cheng MD earned her medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. Over the past six years, Eleanor Cheng MD has established herself as a caring, skilled physician. At the beginning of her career, Eleanor Cheng MD served as a Research Specialist in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Illinois, Chicago Medical Center. In this role, Dr. Cheng studied eye cell cultures and published her findings in various peer-reviewed journals. Between 2004 and 2007, she completed her residency in ophthalmology at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County. Seeing thousands of patients each year, Eleanor Cheng MD developed a solid understanding of clinical care methodology and surgical procedures. For the last three years, she has lent her expertise to Corneal Associates of New Jersey where she completed a fellowship and now serves as an Associate. An expert in eye care, Eleanor Cheng MD specializes in refractive surgery, with subspecialties of corneal and external disease treatments as well as cataract procedures. As the only iFS® All-Laser LASIK facility in the state, Corneal Associates of New Jersey has completed over 7,000 LASIK surgeries and over 6,000 cornea transplants. Working alongside the nationally renowned Dr. Theodore Perl, Eleanor Cheng MD continues to make a significant impact in her field. Eleanor Cheng MD holds memberships with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
