Emily OConnor

Education in Minnesota

I am leading the learning services evolution at Rasmussen College, where I currently serve as Assistant Vice President of Academic Support with oversight of military and veteran student support, diversity initiatives, library, learning center, and special projects aimed to support the academic success of first-year students.

Academic Support plays a vital role in the learning skill development of the "new traditional" student, and I seek to define and enhance that role through innovative uses of technology, creative collaboration in and out of the classroom, and leadership within the College and across the profession.

I am currently an Ed.D. student at Creighton University (interdisciplinary leadership). Beyond work and school, I am an active leader of the Minneapolis - St. Paul Alumnae Chapter of the Sigma Alpha International Music Fraternity. Additionally, I love hanging out with my lab, Pete, and enjoying the sites around my Twin Cities, MN home. I seek opportunities to expand my horizons through adventure and shenanigans, which have led me to 5Ks, triathlons, and cross-country travel.
