Emmanuel Witzman

Emmanuel Witzman joined MacLean Family Law Group in 2009 and became an Associate with the firm in 2010. He holds a JD from the Queen's University Faculty of Law and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with distinction in Theatre from the University of Victoria. He also speaks fluent French and can translate legal documents from French to English. Always close to the arts, Emmanuel Witzman enjoys stand-up comedy, writing, and acting. Additionally, he passed his Grade 8 RCM examinations for piano. As an Associate at MacLean Family Law Group, Emmanuel Witzman meets with clients, manages their accounts, writes pleadings and agreements, attends court hearings, and researches cases. Emmanuel Witzman also handles complex family law matters with Articling Principal, Lorne N. MacLean. His position at MacLean Family Law Group is many-faceted, as he has the opportunity to deal with a number of different legal areas, including guardianship and access cases, child and spousal support issues, high-conflict custody, and property division. From 2007 to 2009, Emmanuel Witzman was part of Hazlett Law Office in Kingston, Ontario. As a legal clerk, he did all of the preliminary research for family trials and took care of the firm's client correspondence. Emmanuel Witzman was also in charge of interviewing clients and keeping them informed of their cases’ progress. Emmanuel Witzman finds volunteer work to be fulfilling in many ways. From 2007 to 2009, he was a volunteer caseworker, helping students and community members who were having financial difficulty. It was an excellent learning experience, which allowed him to perfect his skills. Between 2008 and 2009, he also had the opportunity to work at an orphanage in Kenya and obtain ongoing donations from Kenyan businesses.
