Eren Ozmen is the President, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Chairwoman of the Board of Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), a world-class prime systems integrator and electronic systems provider known for its rapid, innovative, and agile technology solutions.
Eren joined SNC in 1988, shortly after receiving her MBA from the University of Nevada, Reno. With a strong vision of the future, Eren Ozmen and her husband Fatih acquired SNC in 1994 and set their plans in motion to expand and grow. As a direct result of their strategic planning efforts, to include the successful acquisition of ten electronics firms, and their strong financial and technical management SNC has grown into the Top Woman-Owned Federal Contractor in the United States.
Through the Ozmens’ decisive leadership, SNC has expanded its seven business areas to 16 states with 31 locations. SNC employs more than 2,100 people – most of whom are engineers, scientists, or technical personnel – and all of whom are dedicated to meeting the specific requirements to SNC’s diverse customer base. In addition to her role as an influential business woman, Eren places a priority on maintaining a healthy work-life balance, promoting family-friendly policies in the corporate culture of SNC – including the establishment of an on-site daycare in 1991 for all employees to use.
Partnered with SNC’s CEO Fatih Ozmen, this team provides the dynamic leadership and strategic vision that have been the driving forces behind SNC’s dramatic success. Eren Ozmen has received numerous awards for her excellent leadership of SNC, including the 2005 and 2006 Government Computer News (GCN) awards where SNC was recognized as the top Woman Owned company demonstrating excellence in applying innovative IT solutions to the Federal Government; the 2002 Women’s Role Model of the Year; and the 2001 Nevada Distinguished Business of the Year. SNC has also been ranked #1 on the FedList of Women-owned businesses; #2 on the Fastest Growing Women-Owned Companies in North America by the International Women Presidents’ Organization; and one of the US Top 10 Fastest Growing Private Companies by Inc. Magazine in 2010.
