During Eric Andresen’s more than 36-year career in the IT Industry, he has deployed communication networks in six countries and worked in a variety of management roles within project management, critical infrastructure, and operations. The last 30 years have been spent in the Steel Industry, where his positions have included enterprise server management, data networks, and voice communication networks. Currently, Eric is the Senior IT Information Security manager for SSAB. Eric is part of SSAB’s global team that shapes SSAB’s international policies and programs.
Eric is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, where he was inducted into Alpha Sigma Lambda. Eric’s IT certifications include HP, CompTIA, and Microsoft. Eric has completed Certification in Security Management and Homeland Security, as well as a second certification in Telecommunications Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and Criminal Justice. Eric is a member of the Iowa InfraGard Chapter and a founding member of the Quad Cities Cybersecurity Alliance, where he volunteers. Eric serves as a board member representing the Metals Industry as part of the Global Mining and Metals Information Security Analysis Center (MM-ISAC).
Eric has been licensed by the FCC with a General Licence as Amateur Radio Operator W0EKA since 2019 and enjoys all digital modes such as FT8, D-STAR, DMR, and Wires-X and can often be found on the 20m band.
