Eric Cortes has over 10 years of communications and marketing experience. Cortes has coordinated countless national marketing strategies, from planning content to monitoring social engagement to conducting analysis and keeping us abreast of current trends—specifically in digital campaigns. He has helped previous employers further connect with social following and key influencers in their space, as well as provide social media guidance to key stakeholders. Cortes currentlyserves as the Senior Social Media Manager at Hobsons, an ed-tech company that empowers students to make informed choices throughout their life journeys through our partnerships with schools and higher education institutions. Before shifted to the ed-tech industry, he worked at Culture ONE World where he managed the 2020 Census social media campaign, specifically for the U.S. Hispanic audience.

Eric recently moved to the D.C area from New Jersey, where he had managed social media for the Atlantic City Alliance since 2012. His work experience also includes social media with ICF, the American Diabetes Association, marketing & promotions for WWSI Telemundo Philadelphia and media relations for the Visit Philadelphia (formerly GPTMC). Cortes also previously worked for Taller Puertorriqueño, Inc.

In 2010, Cortes was named one of the “Delaware Valley’s Most Influential Latinos,” an event produced by the Philadelphia Multicultural Affairs Congress and Impacto Latin Newspaper, and in 2011, he took home the Hispanic Professional of the Year Award, one of three Excelencia Hispanic Business Awards distributed annually by the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Eric Cortes graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. He also received a Master of Arts Writing Studies from St. Joseph's University. In Fall 2019, Cortes received a graduate certificate in Professional Writing at Old Dominion University.
