Erin Roche

Erin Roche consistently demonstrates success as a Principal in the Chicago Public School system, leading his school faculty, staff, and students to significant academic and budgetary improvements. Since 2002, Erin Roche has held administrative positions at four separate Chicago Public Schools: Boone Elementary School, Noble Street Charter High School, Ravenswood Elementary School, and Prescott Magnet Cluster School. While Assistant Principal at Noble Street Charter High School, Erin Roche was able to reorganize the security staff schedule to save the school more than $15,000 each year. Roche also reduced student detention and suspensions by 10 percent through a strategy that focused on positive intervention and prevention. As Principal of Ravenswood Elementary School, Erin Roche successfully led his team and his students to earn recognition from the State of Illinois: a Spotlight School award and Academic Achievement awards. During his tenure, 15 percent of his middle-school students matriculated to the best high schools in Chicago; six students received more than $80,000 in scholarships by winning the Daniel Murphy Scholarship. Erin Roche also led the school to a new status: Autonomous Management and Performance School, recognizing the success by Roche and his team in placing in the top 15 percent of the school system. Most impressively, Erin Roche’s leadership resulted in a 15-point increase in reading scores and a 20-point increase in math scores. Finally, at Prescott Magnet Cluster School, Erin Roche’s leadership efforts have led to a 13-point increase in ISAT (Illinois Standards Achievement Test) scores for his students over a 3-year period. Demonstrating his commitment to his students, Erin Roche has set the vision and the strategy to focus the school’s energies and efforts for ongoing academic and management improvement.
