Errol Rummel

The Center Director of the Rummel Eye Care/Low Vision Care Center in Jackson, New Jersey, Dr. Errol Rummel offers patients his expert services in adult and pediatric optometric care, as well as medical and visual eye care. One of only a few optometrists in the nation who possess clinical skills certification in neuro-optometric rehabilitation, he is also the only New Jersey optometrist elected to membership in the International Academy of Low Vision Specialists.

In addition to providing general eye care services, Dr. Errol Rummel treats difficult or unusual vision problems, which include adult and pediatric eye muscle issues; neurologically related problems induced by stroke, multiple sclerosis, or head injury; amblyopia (also known as lazy eye); and visual impairment brought on by macular degeneration or diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Errol Rummel treats his patients via techniques such as vision therapy, nonsurgical rehabilitation, neuro-optometric rehabilitation, syntonics, and Lasik. Vision therapy involves individualized and supervised treatment programs geared toward correcting visual-motor and perceptual-cognitive deficiencies with relation to eye alignment, tracking and teaming, focusing, movement, and processing.

Low-vision eye care provided through Dr. Errol Rummel’s center includes the prescription of specially made low-vision glasses that enhance a patient’s visual processing. Rehabilitative vision therapy may require counter-stress lenses, optometric vision therapy, ocular biofeedback therapy, yoked prisms, or even ocular nutrition counseling. In order to treat issues involving focus problems, Dr. Errol Rummel may employ syntonics, or optometric phototherapy. Applying select visible-light frequencies to the eyes, he alleviates light sensitivity and headaches, corrects visual field construction, and decreases stress associated with strain on the eyes.

Corneal Refractive Therapy technologies offer patients a nonsurgical alternative to correcting their vision so that they no longer need supplementary corrective lenses. Active in his professional field, Dr. Errol Rummel participates in a multitude of industry organizations. He serves as a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, and a Fellow of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, International, Inc.
