Irene Suico Soriano is a Filipina American award-winning poet and independent literary/film and video curator living in Los Angeles. She founded and coordinated the reading series "Wrestling Tigers: Asian Pacific American Writers Speak" at the Japanese American National Museum and was literary curator for the LA Festival of Philippine Arts & Culture from 1994-2000. She was featured in the Los Angeles Times for her curatorial participation in the groundbreaking NEA funded "World Beyond Poetry Festival" that featured over 100+ poets from the diverse communities of Los Angeles.

Irene is also founder and director of Bark & Purr Alliance Fund, a not-for-profit group established to provide mini-grants to qualified rescues, independent rescuers and private adopters earmarked to cover pull fees and expedite animal rescue efforts deemed "last chance" emergency cases. Funding priority is given to geriatric (13 yrs - up) rescues, life threatening injury cases and limited income individuals and families who need assistance with their terminally ill pets.
