Eston Vance Whiteside

Des Moines, Iowa

With a background in economics and applied finance, Eston Vance Whiteside of Des Moines, Iowa, has held several roles academically and professionally.

Whiteside graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Professionally, he interned at Towers-Perin Clayton in London during the summer of 2008. The next summer, he was hired as a Project Manager of the Industrial Development Authority of Tuscaloosa County after completing an internship there. During that summer, he assisted with the development of green-usage projects to transform pieces of land. He also made YouTube videos to endorse a vehicle safety seat.

In Des Moines, Eston Whiteside attends Drake University Law School, where he expects to finish in 2013. He belongs to that school's Health Law Society and Phi Delta Theta chapter. He also maintains a legal blog where he has written on issues including the Tennessee Supreme Court's mandates, problems that exist from new synthetic drugs, and attorney-client communication, among others. Drake Law School integrates legal theory with professional skills in its academics.

Besides his legal work, Eston Whiteside enjoys outdoor activities that include canoeing and hiking. Among these, he has hiked the Appalachian Trail and the battlefields in the Normandy region of France, and canoed in the White River in Arkansas. Whiteside was also listed in Golfweek magazine for his tournament abilities.

He is an Eagle Scout with Bronze Palms and a member of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's national honor society.

Eston Whiteside belongs to First United Methodist Church.
