Architect, writer and blogger [but she prefers Professional Amateur]. Her [net]work is a real hub linking several publications and actors on architecture and theory. Working as contributing editor for different blogs and magazines, she has written articles for Domus, Quaderns, The New City Reader [Istanbul edition] and MAS Context among others. She has been invited to present her work in events like Postópolis! DF, and the international architectrure festival Eme3. Associate Curator for "Adhocracy", first comissioned for the Istanbul Design Biennial in 2012 and currently being exhibited at The New Museum, NYC.

Co-founder of the independent publishing house dpr-barcelona, their projects, both digital and printed, transcend the boundaries of conventional publications, approaching to those which are probably the titles of architecture in the future. dpr-barcelona is a growing interdisciplinary group generated by: Ethel Baraona Pohl + César Reyes Nájera.

Ethel Baraona Pohl likes to smell books. She doesn't like vanilla ice cream… but those grassy notes with a tang of acids with hint of vanilla and mustiness is irresistible for her.
