Evert Kuiken

At gridoperator Alliander I am an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) consultant. That is where I earn enough money for a proper living. Because money is not important for me, I do paid work for 32 hours a week. The remainder is for other things I like to do. I do voluntary work for:

  1. Duurzaam Dorp Diemen: a network of inhabitants striving to make our home town Diemen more sustainable. I help organize the monthly Repair Café and do repairs there. I help maintain the website, Facebook page, send out tweets, consult with the community council and with network members.
  2. The Organisatie voor Duurzame Energie: a national organisation for promoting renewables. I am editor for their magazine Windnieuws, so I write articles but also maintain the website, Facebook page and send out tweets.

In the remaining spare time I also like to drive a motorcycle. Sometimes alone, sometime together with friends from the motorcycle group Kawazuki. After owning three Yamaha's type TR1 (XV1000) I now own a BMW R 1200 RT that used to be a Police vehicle but with 100 K kilometers was converted to a civil type by me in 2014. During summer holidays we like to drive our camper (a Frankia RM 570) through Italy. And during all this I try to listen to music as much as possible. Mainly rock, but all sorts of music can inspire me. Read more about me and my wife and two children on my personal website.
