Ed Voytovich

Ed's work has involved residential and light commercial buildings for nearly forty years. Building Science came to him about a dozen years ago, and it came the way religion comes to others. He pursues his interest via several pathways.

He has been BPI Certified, a HERS Rater, a licensed home inspector in NY State, and (least likely of all) a PhD in English Literature. As it happens, he is not actively engaged in any of the above in the usual capacities. Think "Knight Errant."

He has instead combined his experience and education in several areas to become an advocate for applied building science both on the micro level (improving one building at a time) and on the macro level (encouraging a fundamental cultural shift in people's sense of entitlement regarding their buildings and their concept of responsibility to the ecosphere, the biosphere, and even the geosphere).

Ed hopes to continue making homes safer, more comfortable, more durable, and more efficient by encouraging and deploying measures for better performance in new and existing buildings as well as by encouraging occupant behavior modification based on good applied building science.

It's a big job, and he encourages you to pitch in and help out.
