I earned my BS. Ed. Degree in Secondary English Education in Moscow, Idaho. I’ve lived all over Idaho from Boise to Coeur’ D Alene, from Pocatello to Salmon, and from Blackfoot to Moscow. I’ve also lived in small town Wyoming. I am a Master of Educational Technology candidate at Boise State University. Once finished, I will have a Master of Educational Technology Degree, Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching, and an Endorsement for Online Teaching in the state of Idaho.

I teach Language Arts and Speech for Idaho Digital Learning for high school students all over Idaho. Besides my current position, I have taught high school English, creative writing, speech, yearbook, and newspaper for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students in Boise, Idaho and Basin, Wyoming. As a drama and speech teacher, I also produced and directed the school play and coached the speech team.

My passions are teaching, writing, and technology. I strive to combine all three into my professional teaching and training activities so that my learners are better prepared to meet the challenges of the modern life. I enjoy working with learners in any capacity and watching as they learn and build their skills. What I have discovered through my experience teaching is that teaching and leadership are really the same thing. It’s really all about interactions and relationships. Success derives from the relationships that grow out of trust and mutual respect. I strive to create an atmosphere (online or traditional) of safety and respect so that learners can grow and feel safe to learn. The explosion of the Internet and information technologies has forever changed the world. Technology is everywhere and has infused itself in our day-to-day lives which includes the education world as well. Now more than ever, it is important to integrate the web and other technology into any form of education.

After earning my MET degree, I will pursue an MA in English and continue to explore my passions in the high school and college setting. I also plan on pursuing a doctoral degree in either education or English.
