Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Father Elias Lorenzo began his parochial education in elementary school, continuing his sacred studies through his formative years. His continued pursuit for knowledge landed him at Don Bosco College, where he acquired an undergraduate degree in philosophy. After receiving his liturgical studies graduate degree from St. John’s University, Father Elias Lorenzo then proceeded to Seton Hall University to complete a counseling psychology master degree and finished his professional schooling at The Catholic University of America, achieving a licentiate in canon law.

Lorenzo joined the community of monks at Saint Mary’s Abbey and became a priest six years later, ordained by Bishop Rodimer. He maintained professional memberships with both the National Certified Counselor and the New Jersey Professional Counselors Association. He also holds several member affiliations with such religious institutions as the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions, the Monastic Liturgy Forum, and the Canon law Society of America.
