Fiza Pathan

I'm Fiza Pathan — a writer, a teacher, and the inventor of UAIE™ — Universal Adaptive Interface Engine, an accessibility suite built on one conviction: no learner should be shut out of a text. UAIE adapts what sits on the screen — typography, spacing, contrast, language, and reading support — to the person reading it, and it runs across Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Android, WordPress, and Microsoft Word. The invention is mine, and the rights are held in my name.

I have written more than twenty books, most recently Literary Echoes: Short Story Analyses, a full-length study of the short story as a form. Earlier titles include Amina: The Silent One, Nirmala: The Mud Blossom, Raman and Sunny: Middle School Blues, So This Is Love — Collected Poems, and Classics: Why We Should Encourage Children to Read Them. In 2024, The Examiner, India's Catholic newsweekly, awarded me its first Bronze Pen Award at its 175th anniversary celebrations. In more than seventy literary competitions I have placed as either winner or finalist, chief among them the DBW (Digital Book World) Awards, the Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Award, Mom's Choice Awards®, the Beverly Hills International Book Awards, Readers' Favorite, Reader Views, the Eric Hoffer Book Award, Foreword Reviews INDIES, the Pinnacle Book Achievement Award, Literary Classics, and Dan Poynter's Global Ebook Awards.

I teach across the ICSE, IB, Cambridge, and IGCSE curricula, and I am the Sole Director of Fiza Pathan Publishing (OPC) Private Limited, which publishes under the imprint Freedom With Pluralism® — a name that says plainly what I believe a classroom, a bookshelf, and a piece of software should each be.

Beyond writing and teaching, I read widely across all genres, including the classics of English literature, comparative theology, and Indian Knowledge Systems, and I write about all of it at Insane Owl (insaneowl.com), where I share poetry, book reviews, and the issues closest to my heart.
