At Fidelity, Fred Leichter has helped to develop major technological advances for customers in the fields of personal investing and workplace services. He also acts as chairman of the company's Global Web Experience Board.

Before assuming his current role, Frederick Leichter functioned as Fidelity's Senior Vice President of User Interface Design for two decades. In this position, he established a team of professionals responsible for information architecture, usability testing, and visual design. This team now includes more than 100 individuals. He pioneered design as its own field at Fidelity. In addition, he played an instrumental role in developing and expanding online benefits servicing and online brokerage services for the company.

Fred Leichter has held positions at other companies during his career. He worked as a Product Manager for Saddlebrook in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and performed as a Systems Developer at Merrill Lynch in New York.

A graduate of Swarthmore College, Frederick Leichter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. He also has completed graduate-level coursework in Computer Science at Columbia University.

Outside of work, Frederick Leichter plays an active role in community activities. He is on the board of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design Foundation and contributes to the Leadership Committee for the Design Industry Group of Massachusetts.

Recreationally, Fred Leichter maintains an extremely active lifestyle. He has competed 10 times in the Pan-Mass Challenge, a cycling event that raises funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. A dedicated curler, he has performed in four national championships and previously served as the President of Broomstones Curling Club.
