Fred Thomas Jr.

Who is Fred Thomas Jr.? I am a seven time 2012 N.A.A.C.P Theatre Award nominee and winner of Best Director, Best Playwright and Best Producer for my play "12’ x 9’." I graduated from Lincoln Univesity PA and also an alumnus of Temple University, where I received my Masters in Film and Media Arts. I am the founder of Temple University’s Black Media Collective, and was part of the ensemble cast with director Charles Stone III (Drumline, Mr. 3000) in Stone's short film "TRUE" starring as one of the Whassup Guys. That short film spawned the iconic Budweiser "Whassup Guys!" commercials which would go on to become one of the most successful and memorable ad campaigns for Budweiser with a total of 17 commercials, and garnered the 2000 Cannes Film Festival Golden Lion Award for the Best Commercial in the World.

To date, I am the producer and co-star of the feature "The Bachelor Party" for Image Entertainment. I previously worked in New York at the request of Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment on "Men In Black 3", and as director/producer/actor on the film "24 Hour Love" starring Lynn Whitfield, Tatyana Ali, Eva Pigford and Flex Alexander. My lastest project is director/producer/writer of the play "What Would Divas Do? Divalogues", airing on this season of TVOne’s "R&B Divas L.A", starring Michel’le, Chante Moore, Claudette Ortiz, Lil Mo, Kelly Price and Dawn Robinson.
