Fuad El-Hibri

An established business leader in the biopharmaceutical industry, Fuad El-Hibri currently serves as Executive Chairman of the Board at Emergent BioSolutions Inc. Founded by Mr. El-Hibri in 1998, Emergent BioSolutions has grown to become a prominent developer and manufacturer of biopharmaceutical products for the treatment or prevention of diseases. The company currently focuses on marketing BioThrax, the only anthrax vaccine to obtain FDA licensure. Prior to establishing his career with Emergent BioSolutions, Fuad El-Hibri served as Director of Speywood Holdings, Ltd., a biopharmaceutical company based in the United Kingdom. Over the course of his career, Mr. El-Hibri has earned a number of prestigious accolades for his professional achievements; recently among them was his designation, in April 2012, as Executive of the Year by the Tech Council of Maryland.

Fuad El-Hibri completed his Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Stanford University and went on to earn a Master of Public and Private Management at Yale University. Beyond his professional interests in the biopharmaceutical industry, he enjoys participating in nonprofit and community-oriented groups. He is currently active as Chairman of the El-Hibri Charitable Foundation, and as a member of the Board of Directors for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
