Canadian freelance photographer based in Portugal as of late 2013. I've called 5 Canadian provinces and 6 countries home.

Active blogger since 2002, writing at gailatlarge.com. There you'll find more than 6,100 posts covering a broad range of topics including photography, travel, aviation, food, and volunteering.

Photographer for weddings, couples, families, companies, and events through Image Legacy, since 2009.

More than 50,000 of my photos are online. Some favourite travel photos can be seen at gailatlarge.net, from 41 countries. If I had only one travel recommendation, it would be to visit Cuba and stay with a Cuban family in a casa particular.

Desktop publisher since 1996, producing research reports and presentations for the private and public sectors: the investment industry (capital markets), marketing research, tourism/hospitality, and government finance. Graph nerd.

My volunteer work focuses on migration issues and global cultural exchange. Favourite charity is the Terry Fox Foundation, which funds cancer research. My favourite way to travel is through hospitality exchanges such as couchsurfing. Studied anthropology and linguistics at Simon Fraser University.

GA (general aviation) flying is my thrill. Will never forget flying the VFR corridor over the Hudson River and New York City twice, at night and during the day, in my very own airplane. RIP David L. Fielding (1967-2005)
