Garret Erskine

Garret Erskine, graduate of the University of Arizona, has a highly successful record of starting and operating companies particularly within the healthcare technology domain. His first successful healthcare-related venture was a revenue cycle management company known as Med-Billing Corporation. Mr. Erskine established the corporation in 2001, with the strategy that all customers must conform to a single operational process. Eventually this strategy allowed the company to develop into a market leader processing greater than 20,000 claims per month. In 2006, he sold of the company to the competitor, MDSynergy. Mr. Erskine remained as Chief Operating Officer for MDSynergy following the acquisition. In this new position, Mr. Erskine made significant changes within the company. In less than 6 months, he completed the ambitious task of transferring 90 percent of service to the wholly-owned offshore facility. Additionally, during the same period, Garret brought in 90 percent of all new client acquisitions. Following his time at MDSynergy, Garret Erskine was recruited to the top-level executive position at Alteer Corporation, a Visionary HealthWare company. Alteer Corp. had been a market-leader, but as a result of several strategy changes, had lost its' competitiveness and profitability. Within the first 8 months of his leadership, Garret Erskine refocused Alteer operations, re-ignited the software development lifecycle and most importantly, generated a gross profit margin in excess of 30 percent. As a result, Visionary HealthWare promoted Mr. Erskine to President of the newly formed Provider Solutions Division. This position had the responsibility for the integration of the companies recently acquired by Visionary HealthWare; Alteer Corp., Visionary Medical Systems, Softaid, and a division of Antek. These acquired companies maintained 5 healthcare software applications used by more than 3,000 medical practices and 10,000 physicians each day. Garret Erskine successfully executed the role of President of Provider Solutions Division for Visionary HealthWare for over two years and until the acquisition of Visionary HealthWare by CompuGroup Medical, AG. At the present, Garret Erskine is CEO of Abraxas Medical Solutions, Inc., a healthcare IT software provider. His task is to turn this underachieving subsidiary of Ophthalmic Imaging Systems into a success. So far, his attempts have garnered excellent results.
