Gary Crittenden

A prominent private equity professional with many years of experience in the field, Gary Crittenden currently serves as a managing partner and chief executive officer-elect of HGGC, LLC, formerly known as Huntsman Gay Global Capital, LLC. In this capacity, he oversees all aspects of the middle market private equity firm as it creates growth opportunities for its portfolio companies. Gary Crittenden also holds a seat on several committees at HGGC, including the Executive, Policy, and Investment Committees.

Aside from his work with HGGC, Gary Crittenden acts as the chairman of the board of iQor and Citadel, which belong to the HGGC portfolio. Additionally, he spent several years as the chairman of the board of Power Holdings before its acquisition. Gary Crittenden has also served on the boards of several companies without ties to HGGC, including Ryerson Tull, Staples, and the TJX Companies.

Before taking up his current responsibilities, Gary Crittenden spent two years as the chief financial officer of Citigroup. In this role, he assumed responsibility for the financial management of the firm during the global financial crisis of 2007 and 2008. He also served as the chief financial officer of the American Express Company, Filene’s Basement, the Melville Corporation, Monsanto, and Sears Rosebuck and Company. During the early years of his career, Gary Crittenden worked his way up to partner at Bain & Company, a prominent international management consulting firm.

Gary Crittenden holds a bachelor of science from Brigham Young University and a master of business administration from Harvard Business School.
