Gary Newsome

A seasoned executive, Gary Newsome has held various leadership roles in the healthcare industry throughout his career. In his most recent position as President and CEO of Health Management Associates, Mr. Newsome oversaw performance and strategic growth for numerous healthcare facilities spanning the United States. Within five years, Gary Newsome grew the company’s revenue by nearly 50% and was named among the most influential people in the healthcare industry by Modern Healthcare. His other accomplishments included being recognized by Becker as one of the 40 most powerful people in healthcare.

While leading the organization, he remained active in the community. In 2011, he was appointed as the day of service chairman for the Koreshan State Park cleanup initiative. The event drew in more than 500 people, including the governor.

In his spare time, Mr. Newsome enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Additionally, he likes to watch baseball and attends church services weekly.
