An accomplished professional in the field of automation and power, Fritz Gautschi contributed to the success of the ABB Group in both the United States and Europe. He joined the company as CEO of the corporation's Switzerland-based power company, then assumed leadership of the its global gas turbine and combined-cycle power plant business.Under his leadership ABB developped a new gasturbine type using the concept of sequential combustion. After emigrating to the United States to become ABB's executive vice president for power generation at ABB USA, Fritz Gautschi oversaw the formation and management of a U.S.-based joint venture between ABB and ALSTOM. Fritz Gautschi holds a master of science in engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, where he graduated cum laude. He also completed the International Senior Management Program at Harvard Business School, as well as postgraduate studies at the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh, where he focused on nuclear engineering. Author of the 2011 book A Post-Fukushima World: America's New Energy Landscape, Mr. Gautschi stands out as a former board member with ENPORION and a past advisor on energy matters for the Gerson Lehrman Group.
