George Marchelos

I'm George Marchelos. I was originally born in New York City, grew up there, and attended school at the New York Institute of Technology. I got my Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, as well as an Associate’s Degree in computer engineering technology.

After my time in school, I went to work for a company called Sperry Rand. Sperry Rand was a defense contracting company out of Lake Success, New York. There, I worked on fire control systems for the Harpoon missiles. I also did some work on the Submarine Acoustics Warfare systems that were being employed at that time, the system responsible for detecting noise and motion underwater.

Upon leaving Sperry, I went into the computer industry, where I worked for progressively larger companies. These included WANG Laboratories, Hewlett Packard, and Digital Equipment Corporation - the fourth, third, and second largest computer companies worldwide, respectively. Working for these companies, I served in several different capacities. These included working as a telecommunications consultant, mini and mainframe computer systems, industrial printer support, and professional services consulting for every major bank such as Chase, Citibank, and J.P. Morgan, amongst others.

Digital Equipment Corporation transferred me out to San Francisco in 1992. I managed to take care of their channel partner network for a few years. Afterward, I switched companies to go work for T-Line Services in San Jose. This company was a PictureTel reseller, and during my time there I made them the top reseller in the state.

I worked for other companies afterward, doing some work for CISCO and Verisign before finally settling in with Mercer Computer Systems, where I'm presently.

As everybody knows, my name, George Marchelos, is well know within the greatest sales managers in the country.
