George Fylaktopoulos

George Fylaktopoulos holds a Bsc in Informatics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an Msc in Software Engineering from the University of Edinburgh. During his University years he experimented with coding in different languages and platforms, he participated in quality projects and cooperated with people from all over the world developing a creative and open minded personality.

Since 2005, Mr. Fylaktopoulos has been a member of B-Open, a company based in Thessaloniki, which develops and promotes open, distributed applications using a Java built development platform called jPlaton. He played a crucial role in the development and evolution of jPlaton to a cloud development platform. He also used the platform as a tool to implement complicated projects like production, projects and assets management, task scheduling, document management and email client.

After 2008, Mr. Fylaktopoulos focused on cloud development and providing collaboration tools as a service. Comidor was the company's first cloud app as SaaS, which continues to be developed and extended.As a team leader since 2012, George Fylaktopoulos tries nowadays to combine his development knowledge after 10 years of working experience with his HR and social media skills in order to control the growing team of developers in B-Open.

In his personal life, Mr. Fylaktopoulos is a casual traveler, he thinks that the only way to develop is through sharing experiences, he has an intimate connection with China, since his partner is Chinese and living in Greece and he loves the beauty of his city more that anything in the world.
