Giovanni Giacoia

Giovanni is a Glasgow-based artist who works mainly in the media of drawing and painting. He graduated from the Glasgow School of Art with a First-Class BA (Hons) in Painting and Printmaking and with a distinction in Historical and Critical Studies. Giovanni’s most recent exhibitions include Procedure, Belfast (Station); Glasgow Fleeto, London (Shoreditch Town Hall) and Must I Paint You a Picture?, Glasgow (Transmission Gallery). Forthcoming exhibitions include 54th Venice Biennale, Padiglione Italia. Giovanni was awarded the John Kinross Scholarship 2010 from the Royal Scottish Academy and more recently the RSA Residencies for Scotland 2011 bursary (awarded by the Royal Scottish Academy). His work features in both private and public collections, such as the Metropolitan College in Glasgow and the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh.
