Since 1994, Giuliana Ferraino has served as an editor and writer in the business and economic section at “Corriere della Sera”, the largest Italian daily newspaper. Ms. Ferraino covers a wide range of economic and financial topics, with a focus on international news. She has reported extensively on the introduction of the European single currency and presently writes about the financial distress of the Eurozone as well as multinational companies. She routinely interviews prominent government officials, business leaders, bankers, and economists.
She holds a University degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in journalism from the School of Journalism of "Corriere della Sera" in Milan. In order to deepen her digital media skills, in 2012 she completed two courses on Multimedia Storytelling at the Graduate school of Journalism at Columbia University. Prior to joining the business and economic section at “Corriere della Sera”, she was a reporter for “Corriere Medico” a health magazine, and “La Gazzetta dello Sport”, the leading Italian sport daily.
For the 2005-06 academic year, Ms. Ferraino was a Visiting Fellow at the Institute of International Studies and Hoover Institution at Stanford University. In 1999, she was a Media Fellow at the European Journalism Centre in Maastricht. And in 1998, she was one of the three European journalists selected as the recipient of the NSK-JE Fellowship on Japanese Economics, Society and Culture.
In addition to her native Italian, Ms. Ferraino speaks fluent English, French, Spanish, and German.
