An online venue for sharing baby photos, The Great American Photo Contests offers free monthly contests open to parents and grandparents of children younger than 48 months old. The photo with the most votes each month wins a $2,500 prize from The Great American Photo Contest. The Great American Photo Contest also has a monthly competition for the most popular pet submission, with the top photograph earning a $1,000 cash prize. Established in 2006, The Great American Photo operates out of Fort Lee, New Jersey. In addition, The Great American Photo Contest currently offers members a chance to participate in the Fame and Fortune Photo Contest, which occurs every six months. The Great American Photo Contest judges will award the owner of the winning photo either a $25,000 government bond, which will mature in 18 years; $14,000 in cash; or equivalent non-cash prizes. Judges will grade photos on a range of criteria, including the quality of the photo, originality, and the beauty and expressiveness of the child. Entry into the contest costs $19.99 and can be completed through The Great American Photo Contest website or via standard mail. Parents, grandparents, or legal guardians can submit photos of children 10 years of age or younger to the Great American Photo Contest.
