Wealth Advisor Greg Shanaphy serves as Senior Portfolio Manager for the UBS Portfolio Management Program and as Vice President of Investments for The Poppo Group within UBS Financial Services Inc. An insurance coordinator and estate planner for UBS since 2007, he devises and implements wealth-building strategies for corporations, governments, institutions, and affluent individuals. Greg Shanaphy holds professional licenses in health and life insurance and FINRA Series 7, 24, 31, 63, and 66 securities licenses.

Before accepting his current position at UBS in 2007, Mr. Shanaphy acted as a Private Wealth Manager at Merrill Lynch Global Private Client Group for three years. He worked in estate and financial planning at AXA Advisors, LLC, for two years prior to that. Greg Shanaphy is also a licensed attorney and practiced law for nearly 10 years. The experience included three years in a District Attorney’s office, two years in a private practice, and several years as General Counsel at a Wall Street investment banking firm.

Greg Shanaphy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Montclair State University in New Jersey, where he minored in economics and studied abroad at the University of Siena in Tuscany, Italy. He received his Juris Doctor at Seton Hall University School of Law. One of a select few UBS Financial Advisors to earn the Wealth Advisor designation, he is highly qualified to provide clients with customized wealth-management services. A member of the American Bar Association with admissions to the New Jersey Bar and the United States District Court, Mr. Shanaphy serves as a partner on a team recognized by Barron’s as one of the Top 100 Financial Advisors in 2009, 2010, and 2011.

Greg Shanaphy additionally holds membership in The Irish Business Organization of New York Inc. and the Irish American Bar Association of New York. He co-founded and sits on the board of the Vincent Falzo Foundation, which provides educational funding for those with limited means, and serves on the board of nonprofit art gallery White Box. Mr. Shanaphy also supports Little Sisters of the Assumption Family Health Service, which offers a wide range of medical and social services to East Harlem families.
