Greg Snyder Lakota West

West Chester, Oh

A music educator, Greg Snyder serves as director of bands at Lakota West High School in West Chester, Ohio. Over his tenure there, Symphonic Winds, the top concert band, has garnered three invitations (a first for Ohio) to the world-renowned Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic. The Midwest Clinic is the leading instrumental music conference in the country. It is the internationally-acclaimed "Superbowl" of performance venues for high school concert bands.

In recognition of his accomplishments, the Ohio State House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate officially commended him in April of 2014. Further, outlets like the magazine of the National Association of Music Merchants have sought out Greg Snyder's commentary on such matters as how to develop a strong band program.

In terms of professional organizations, the Lakota West band director belongs to the esteemed American Bandmasters Association. He is also a member of Music Educators National Conference, as well as a member and former district president of Ohio Music Education Association.

Active in his community, Mr. Snyder engages in such charitable activities as supporting local homeless shelters and the American Cancer Society. He is also a neighborhood advocate for the March of Dimes. Mr. Snyder utilizes his experience as a music professional to mentor young band directors and to perform in his local church orchestra.

When not busy with the aforementioned responsibilities, the accomplished music educator enjoys local classical music and theater, including the Cincinnati Symphony and Playhouse in the Park performances. Mr. Snyder is a tennis enthusiast and enjoys international travel.
