Gustavo Stringel

An illustrious and accomplished surgeon, Dr. Gustavo Stringel has dedicated much of his life to training and mentoring medical students and residents in prestigious educational programs. Currently a tenured Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, Dr. Stringel has also held academic positions at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas, at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, in Stony Brook, New York, and at the University of Ottawa, in Canada.

Possessing considerable experience in pediatric and minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Gustavo Stringel laid the foundations for his impressive career at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), where he graduated with his Doctor of Medicine. Following the conferral of his MD, Dr. Stringel undertook a series of internships and residencies. Dr. Gustavo Stringel has completed residencies in pediatrics, general surgery, and pediatric surgery at such prestigious medical centers as the Hospital Infantil de México, the Gallie Program of the University of Toronto, and The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). The Gallie and SickKids training programs in particular represent elite surgical education programs that enjoy widespread international renown.

Dr. Gustavo Stringel has pursued and received numerous licenses and certifications for a wide array of medical specialties. A Certified Physician Executive (CPE), Dr. Stringel holds licensure to practice medicine in New York, Florida, and Texas. He also possesses certification in General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care from the American Board of Surgery and in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. Gustavo Stringel belongs to American Medical Association, The American Pediatric Surgical Association, and the American College of Physician Executives. In addition, he holds the distinguished title of Fellow with the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Surgeons, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
