Harith Alani

I am a senior lecturer at the Knowledge Media institute, Open University, where I'm heading a group specialising in Social Semantics and Web Science. Before joining KMi, I was a senior research fellow at the School of Electronics and Computer Science, University of Southampton.

Writing and publishing scientific papers is something I do all the time! and I've done a fair bit, which you can find here. I publish mainly in semantic web, web science, and social computing conferences and journals. Much of my recent research is focused on analysing online communities to better understand their social dynamics and to monitor their health, behaviour, and evolution predictions.

I frequently get involved in the organisation of leading conferences in my area of research, so I was a chair for the Semantic Data track at HyperText 2012, Semantic Web In-Use track at ISWC 2011, and the Sensor Web track for ESWC 2011. I will be programme co-chair for ISWC 2013 and WebSci 2013.
