Hannah C. Hunter

Hi, I'm Hannah! I'm 35, mother to Josef (7) and Ella (1), wife to John and photographer extraordinaire (incase you haven't already noticed).

I had always been interested in the visual arts but photography was my true calling. Growing up in NYC I had the greatest studio any artist could ask for. Anywhere you went, day or night, there were all the subjects and lighting to work with that you could dream of. In high school I was afforded the opportunity to spend hours in the dark room further honing my skills. I would turn up the music and engulf myself in developing.

And then came the music... I was also a fan of music. Who isn't as a teenager? When I started going to concerts I realized that there was a whole section for people who took photos. It clicked for me very quickly and I started bringing my camera to shows at 16. Long before there were fan websites & zines. To me it was a challenge; capturing the spirit of the experience alive in a flattened image. Eventually that evolved into a full fledged music industry career in promotion & marketing. Although not in photography, my career afforded me exceptional access to artists and venues I might not have otherwise been able to shoot & work with.

Fast forward to 2013, we relocated the family back to New York after being in Florida for 7+ years and restructured the photography business as well as our family goals. I've come to realize that my family is my priority. Our health, wellbeing and place in our community are amongst the most important pieces. I've always cared about what I put into my body and on my body. Now I've taken the next step in actually creating some of these items for my own personal use as well as for my kids and my friends. I've decide to reactive this account and start sharing everything I do. Read it, look at it, print it, copy it, book mark it or ask me questions. I welcome it all!
