Over the years, working as a professional in media, advertising, marketing, business development and doing strategic planning for small black-owned and operated businesses, including my own, I’ve seen a need that’s reached a critical mass — the need to create sustained economic vitality in inner-city America. City Startup Labs was started, in part to support, motivate and develop entrepreneurial talent and capacity amongst African American millennials and the formerly incarcerated, to do just that.
