At Air & Space / Smithsonian magazine I prepare feature aviation and aerospace stories for print, and write for The Daily Planet blog and Twitter.

Before joining the Smithsonian in 2011, I was the Managing and Arts Editor at DCist, a website about Washington, D.C. news and events, where I covered visual arts, wrote regularly about astronomy, and founded the DCist Exposed Photography Show. In 2011, I produced a special issue photo magazine for Exposed's fifth anniversary. My work with local photographers and galleries enabled the creation of Ten Miles Square. You can find press coverage of our exhibits and about my appearances on television and radio and serving as an art juror around the D.C. area here.

I have a degree in non-fiction writing from Ohio Wesleyan University, where I also studied physics and astronomy, and a law degree from American University.
