Heather Novak

Birmingham MI

My name is Heather Novak, and I write young adult and new adult romance. I'm sarcastic, purple haired, and advocate the use of the elusive Oxford comma.

After graduating from Wayne State University with awards for best short film and creative screenplay, I spent several years developing my craft as a fiction and non-fiction writer.

I absolutely love my day job as a writer on the Weight Watchers executive team. On the weekends, I'm typically buried beneath a pile of books.

I love my Greater Detroit Chapter of Romance Writers of America, where I am the Historian and Booksellers Best Award Coordinator for Paranormal.

I started my marketing and promotions career in 2002 after joining forces with the legendary C. Thomas Wilson on the international radio show Somewhere In Time. Here, I spent eight years as a co-host and public relations representative. From being on-air, to writing press releases and grants, to teaching underprivileged children in the Detroit Public School system, this job was very fulfilling.

After the show folded in August 2010 due to the passing of Tom, I continued to expand on my talents for marketing and promotions at Health Dimensions, INC. In 2013, I joined Weight Watchers as part of the Executive Team to Florine Mark.

Fundraising is one of my biggest passions. Every year, I walk for MIU Race for the Ribbon (Prostate Cancer), Relay for Life, and St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Wishing You Laughter & Good Books,

Heather Novak
